This photo shows the plaque just inside the entrance to Wesley Methodist Church in St John Street and it has the following wording: Wesley Methodist Church: where we come from The Octagon, City Road (1765-1812) St.John Street Wesleyan Chapel (1812-1932) St. John Street Methodist Church (1932-1970) The Methodist Churches of St.John Street, Hunter Street (1899-1967) and George Street (1863-1970) united to form Wesley Methodist Church in 1970 This Wesley Methodist Church is one of twentyfive such churches in the North Cheshire Circuit which was formed on Sunday 1st September 2019 following the merger of the Chester and Delamere Forest, and Runcorn Circuits. Incidentally, a Circuit is a group of Methodist Churches, and this particular circuit is one of ten such Circuits in the Chester & Stoke-on-Trent Methodist District.
