Seen here in pouring rain, the Beacon Hotel dates from 1850 and is the brewery tap for Sarah Hughes beers. Sarah Hughes ran the brewery from 1921 until her death in 1951 - brewing continued for a while but ceased in 1957. However, the brewery was reopened in 1987 by her grandson.
