The view up Shudehill is now dominated by the latest high-rise development to feature on the Manchester skyline. Angel Gardens is a 34-storey building of 466 rental apartments currently under construction. When completed, it will form part of the 20-acre NOMA redevelopment. Construction began in January 2017 and was briefly halted following the collapse of the main contractor, Carillion in January 2018, when construction was put on hold; two weeks later, the contract was transferred to Caddick Construction and construction re-commenced (https://www.theconstructionindex.co.uk/news/view/caddick-replaces-carillion-on-angel-gardens The Construction Index). A sign outside indicates that the project is expected to be completed during 2020.
