This retail park by the Gala Water occupies the site of the former Comely Bank Mill erected in 1852, named after a row of houses known as Comelybank - see the Canmore web page https://canmore.org.uk/site/99729/galashiels-low-buckholmside-comelybank-mill for more of the history. It is now the site of Currys, PC World, Carphone Warehouse and Carpet Right with Matalan out of shot to the left.
