An attractive public house with a separate dining room. The building is Grade II listed and is thought to date from about 1620. Originally timber-framed externally this is now hidden, but some survives inside. There are many 18th, 19th & 20th century alterations. The only public house in the village, it is likely that years ago there were others as it was a mining village. The last pit closed as recently as 1972. Image
