As you ascend Church Hill off Mill Street here in Sutton Coldfield, you will find this in the wall on your left. It was brought here from the Houses of Parliament after World War II air raids. The inscription reads 'THIS STONE FROM THE WAR DAMAGED HOUSE OF COMMONS WAS PRESENTED BY SIR JOHN MELLOR. BART. (BARONET) M.P. (MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT) 1942'. Time photo taken 11.37 am GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
