Looking along the railway tracks, leading to Waterloo, at the dispiriting jungle of development that is VNEB, Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea. Owen Hatherley has remarked that its "ruthlessly overdeveloped nature ... devoid of planning, intelligence or character, is a genuine nadir".
