Saffron Walden: St Mary the Virgin

The steeple of the parish church of St Mary the Virgin is 193ft tall. The spire was built, and the upper part of the tower renewed, in 1832 to the designs of Rickman and Hutchinson. The picture was taken from the little garden on High Street.
