Saffron Walden: in Myddleton Place

The Grade I listed timber-framed building was built in the 1490s as a combined house, shop and warehouse. The lucam (or sack hoist) was added early in the 19th century when part of the building was used as a malthouse. The photograph was taken early on a January afternoon with the sun low in the sky.
