This nice sign has now gone because the pub changed hands in early 2019. It became part of a small group of pubs called the Pug family of pubs. This brought about a change of name to The Black Pug. In my purely personal view this doesn't seem to go with the dignity of this venerable building. However other pubs in the group are called The Fat Pug and The Royal Pug, so it fits in with them. However, so far, there does not appear to be a Hardly able to breathe Pug, sadly a common problem with this popular breed. Image Image
