Looking in an easterly direction across Heaton Park Reservoir and into Heaton Park. The aqueduct carrying water from Haweswater, in the Lake District, to Manchester terminates here. The aqueduct was inaugrated in June 1955, is 82 miles in length and carries up to 100 million gallons per day under gravity. SD82290510.
