On the left is the chimneystack shown in Image and Image The listed building description at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1395956 is ambivalent about its purpose. "Purpose uncertain but thought to be ornamental chimneystack of former pumping station (possibly underground) serving nearby canal locks ... and is probably related to a pumping station intended to return water to the upper flight of the canal". The houses across the canal are on Sydney Buildings (see also Image]).
