The centre of the old part of the village, where markets and fairs were held and a bonfire was lit at New Year - from 'Village Trails in Clydesdale and Tweeddale' by Rosemary Turpie and Ian Gilchrist (Quothquan Trails 2015). Winter has arrived on the heights around Cardon Hill.
