The last ever Virgin Train

Virgin operated train services on the West Coast Main Line for an astonishing 22 years - only three years less than one of its predecessors, the LMS. This, the 2140 from Euston to Wolverhampton on the 7th December 2019 was the last ever scheduled Virgin departure from Euston (although an unscheduled relief train ran five minutes later). The following day the service was taken over by Avanti West Coast. By this stage pretty much all Virgin branding had been removed but a small group of staff were marking the end of an era in an impromptu way.
