This little locked metal cabinet containing a liquid nitrogen Dewar appeared suddenly and I spotted it on one of my regular meanders. My best guess is that this is associated with the newly relocated Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health service and that the liquid nitrogen is to be used for treating genital warts. The warning notices state to keep well ventilated and not to work alone. One of the dangers is hat if there is rapid ebullition for any reason the nitrogen can displace oxygen in the vicinity and cause an asphyxia death (it has happened). When we stored it indoors it was always kept separately in a room with a noisy low oxygen alarm. This outdoor ventilated container strikes me as a much better idea. The adjoining grey strip down the wall is a lightning conductor.
