The course of the old Wilts and Berks Canal is reasonably well preserved all along this section, including here on Kingston Common Farm. Derelict before the first world war, the route is now visible as a strip of woodland, with the canal still holding water in some places. The canal preservation people have been working at restoration for years but it's a massive task. At least this bit isn't getting noticeably worse, like being built over or anything.
