Behind the bus stop is New Church House, which dates back to 1782. For many years it was a Christian bookshop. Now it is a hairdressing salon run by Andrew Trott-Barn. http://www.new-churchhouse.co.uk/the-salon/ A photo from 1910 https://images.manchester.gov.uk/web/objects/common/webmedia.php?irn=9446 shows it as then being Wroe's Music Stores whilst next door was the Manchester Exchange and Investment Bank. That building opened in 1997 as The Ape and Apple Image, a Joseph Holt's pub.
