Now a dining pub and hotel called The Godwins. After being the New Inn for decades, it was closed for a long time and was under threat. Now fully refurbished and celebrating its history as the home of Henry Godwin, one of the driving forces behind the Godwin tile and brickworks in nearby Lugwardine and Whitestone. The house was originally called The Ferns and it was built for Henry in 1879-80. The architect is thought to have been Lewis Powell
