Passengers bound for Newcastle should be aware that trains from Carlisle (or beyond) to Newcastle stop at Platform 1, but those starting in Hexham and (usually) going to Middlesbrough via Newcastle start from Platform 2 (unless otherwise indicated, of course). See Image
