A picturesque stone bridge on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal (known to its friends as the "Mon & Brec"). This was the start of our third day of walking the Usk Valley Walk, only we were cheating by this point. We'd arranged to visit some friends who live on the route of the walk, and the previous evening we'd stumbled into their house looking like survivors from a brutal war and unable to walk another step. We were on the point of giving up, but they lent us a canoe and gave us a lift to the canal (which the route of the Usk Valley Walk largely follows, all the way to Brecon). It has to be said, canoeing with camping kit is much easier than carrying it on your back! This was taken as we were unloading and launching the canoe.
