Downstream of the Swing Bridge is a small jetty. Across the river is UTC Harbourside. Sponsored by the University of Brighton, this University Technical College for students aged 14–18 (Key Stage 4 and 5) opened in September 2015. It specialises in science, technology, engineering and maths, leading to academic and vocational qualifications. Update: The college closed in July 2019.
