Van Vleuten leads the Women's Elite Road race as it comes up Parliament hill on the first of its three laps of Harrogate circuit. She had been riding solo, out front for 100km, two thirds of the race from Bradford. She maintained her lead and won the gold medal, becoming World Champion 2019. Her team mate Anna van der Breggen, the defending champion, won silver and Amanda Spratt of Australia won bronze.
