Flowerdew Meadow is a relatively recent development named after a local recipient of the Victoria Cross. To honour Gordon M. Flowerdew, V.C. Born at Billingford Hall 2 January 1885. Awarded the Victoria Cross for conspicuous bravery under fire. Fell at Amiens, France, 31 March 1918 https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6319637
