88 - 94 Church Street (in the background) was built in 1850 as Wood Dene, now divided into flats. 55 Church Street (on the right) has late medieval origins. For many years a garage, it now houses a firm of Funeral Directors. Grade II listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1028618. For closer views of the buildings see Image and Image respectively.
