At The Ridings. The Ridings is an extensive housing development > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4309694 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4309722 to the west of The Street in Poringland. This crescent is named after Corporal Louis William Minns, who served with the 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment and died of wounds in France/Flanders on 28 September 1918, aged 21. Born at Rudham and the son of Louis and Ellen Minns of Poringland, he is buried at the Grevillers British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Corporal Minns is commemorated on the Poringland war memorial.
