The poignant and rather accurate bronze figure of a soldier was erected in 1920 as a WWI memorial, cast at the Fiorini Foundry in Battersea (London), and attracted a Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101205494-war-memorial-in-park-to-east-of-church-of-holy-trinity-heath-town-ward#.XcJ7YOj7RPY & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1205494 in 1995.
