Formerly Mount St Joseph's Catholic College (and before that a Methodist one), the main buildings date from c.1868 and are grade II listed (list entry 1255946). It is now the head office of the (Roman Catholic) Diocese of Leeds - not to be confused with the Anglican diocese of the same name whose offices are on York Place in the city centre. It also hosts retreats and conferences for other organisations, and its religious bookshop is open to the public.
