Looking across the road from the cutting shown in Image The imposing house is Brock House. The tramroad ran close by it although I cannot find out if they were connected in any way. Traffic on the tramroad ended in 1904. The road, now the A431, follows the course of the Via Julia, the Roman Road that linked Bath with South Wales & Carmarthen, via a ferry crossing of the River Severn at Aust.
