This is a Belliss & Morcom two stage compressor driven via vee belts from an electric motor. The lower half is externally almost identical to the firm's enclosed steam engines that were built into the 1970s. This one dates from the 1947 and was used at the Alcan works in Newport. It was acquired in 2005.
