This magnificent path continues towards the Perranwell Viaduct which carries the Falmouth branch over the Carnon Valley. The cycle path does not follow the line of the Redruth and Chacewater Railway at this point, but the heathland vegetation tells that this is an area underlain by acidic and metal-rich residua from a long history of mining in the valley.
