Looking north towards Marple. This is the Macclesfield Canal, south of Brownhills Bridge, No 15. The canal is wide here, like an elongated lake, because of mining subsidence. It is a lovely scene and justly popular as a mooring spot. I see (2019) the nearby pub has (usually) good reviews.
