Now a private house, the former Grapes Hotel is dated to 1713, and has in its time been a coaching inn on the main road north out of Leicester and a one-time Temperance hotel. It was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101287342-the-grapes-mountsorrel#.XZrgTkZKhPY & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1287342 in 1966. Doors and windows to the street frontage have been altered recently, very probably restoring things to the way they were in past times, and there is also quite a lot of building and restoration work happening to the rear.
