From nearest to farthest there are gas holders Nos. 12, 13 and 14 and are the last to survive at this former large gas works. They are to be demolished towards the end of 2019 as National Grid has obtained permission to demolish from the local authority. Windsor Street was a large producer of town gas and around 1911 was a pioneer in high pressure distribution (about 5 bar I believe) with a pipeline to a large receiver ('the bullet') at Longbridge. The gas holders have not been used for some years and are very large examples of the externally guided type. Unfortunately I couldn't find any useful data such as overall dimensions, capacity and number of lifts (stages). I am glad that I have managed to photograph these sadly deflated examples before they disappear.
