Built at the end of the 19th century for a local sea captain, and retaining 'virtually intact' many of its original period features and character, Abertawe House was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300084392-abertawe-house-including-back-cottage-newport#.XZWc7EZKhPY in 2005.
