At the top is the Salford Corporation Transport Roll of Honour Image Below is one of the four Manchester Corporation Tramways Employees War Memorials. The inscription at the top reads: PRO REGE ST PATRI TO THE HONOURED MEMORY OF THE EMPLOYEES OF MANCHESTER CORPORATION TRAMWAYS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM AND RIGHT IN THE GREAT EUROPEAN WAR 1914-1918 and below the names of 310 men: LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT THESE NAMES BE NOT FORGOTTEN For a full list of the names see Carl's Cam http://www.carlscam.com/manchester/tramways.htm This one was moved here after the old Hyde Road depot was demolished in 2001. The memorial at the former Princess Road depot, Moss Side was moved to the new Hyde Road depot Image A third copy is on a wall at the Queens Road Depot Image and a fourth copy is at the Sharston depot.
