Class 37 No. 37421 and No. 37025 top-and-tail a Cardiff Canton to Rhymney crew training run through the Cardiff suburb on Roath; the train is seen crossing Fairoak Road bridge. Of interest is the trackside structure in the bottom-left of the picture. Some texts about the history of Cardiff talk about the existence of a short platform used for Cathays cemetery. It is described as having existed only on the up side of the line, and having a sloped platform to assist the carriage of coffins from the railway towards the nearby cemetery. Is this it?
