Looking upstream. The River Irk appears briefly here by the side of railway and Metrolink lines leaving the Victoria Station area of central Manchester. To the right of the picture the river flows into a culvert that takes it under the station before it merges with the River Irwell. New apartment buildings of Manchester's Green Quarter development can be seen under construction on the left.
