Built as almshouses for Sir John Listers and the minor hospitals in 1886, Northumberland Court is now a complex of 58 modernized one-bedroom flats provided by Hull United Charities for the over 55s. Sandwiched between the Beverley & Barmston Drain and the River Hull at Sculcoates, this fancy bit of 19th century architecture is somewhat overshadowed these days by the local industrial landscape.
