This is the site of the Yarmouth Beach Station > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2326257 which was opened by the Great Yarmouth & Stalham Light Railway on 7 August 1877. It was closed 2 March 1959. By that time it was owned by British Railways (Eastern Region). After closure, the site was used as a coach station, with the platforms, canopies and buildings initially being used as waiting rooms. The station was demolished in 1986 and replaced by modern brick built facilities for coach passengers. Although the town served by the station was Great Yarmouth the official name for the station was just Yarmouth although Great Yarmouth appeared on station signs ('Beach' was added in 1883). A small memorial to the railway station remains in the form of a brick plinth containing about ten yards of track and two cast iron roof supports showing the logos of the M&GN and the E&MR, see > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6274592 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6274597 and https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6274600.
