The Manor House - Winterborne Clenston

A late C15 or early C16 Grade I Listed manor house. Originally, it had a fairly symmetrical facade that was changed in the C17 with the additional wing to the left. Interesting internal features include a stone socket for a cresset set into a wall, with a drain for waste wax, and remains of some of the original C16 plasterwork. Patterns of this plasterwork also occur at Mapperton https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/868211 dated 1545-55, suggesting they were made from the same moulds, and by the same plasterer.
