The Glenside mental health hospital was founded with a determined effort to provide the best of contemporary treatments. Among the new approaches to mentally ill people in Victorian times, this chapel was built with care. The many stained glass windows all portrayed positive and uplifting scenes, such as the healing of the lame, and happier stories from the Bible. However, this panel on the left simply shows and idyllic landscape without any religious connection - a rare occurrence in churches.
