Mid-nineteenth century Sandstone monument in the form of a Gothic tabernacle. There are panels with inscriptions in each face. First built as the tomb of William Birley who died in 1850 and his first wife Mary, who died in 1819. He was the owner of the Kirkham Linen Mill. The monument is Grade II listed (Historic England List Entry Number: 1362358 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1362358 ).
