This unusually named pub, The Coalheavers Arms, is a small, one-roomed, back street 'local' dating from the 1850s. Perhaps the coalheavers referred to here (i.e. workers who either carry coal or shovel it) were associated with the Fletton Brick Factory? This was the only pub in Peterborough to have suffered bomb damage during WWII.
