In 1979 Buriton became a daughter church of Petersfield, the irony being that from the late 13th Century until 1886 St Peter's was a daughter church of Buriton. Norman's career took him from Whittlesford to Guildford, Cornwall and County Durham before twenty years as Secretary of the Church Mission Society. Buriton was his last post, 1974 until his retirement in 1979.
