Wynnstay House on St James's Square is now a business premises. The building is historic as it is thought to be the oldest purpose built infant school in existence. It accommodated about 250 children and was designed by Samuel Wilderspin and opened on the 26th July 1830. The school was founded by Rev. Francis Close.
