Built in the 1950s as a base for the bobbies on the beat who were tasked with serving hundreds of post-war homes in the Tuckswood and Lakenham estates, the building, which together with the adjacent police station and police house > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6238818 situated in Abbot Road had been declared surplus to the force's requirements as part of an operational review dating from 2000, is now scheduled for conversion into a 2-bed bungalow.
