Seems to be a little used entrance. There are two pillars, the second hidden in the woodland, representing the Temple of Solomon's pillars, which is a Masonic device. These were added to the estate during the time of its occupation by Rev. Charles Raikes Davy, who inherited the estate in 1856 and died in 1885. He was Grand Chaplain to the Grand Lodge of Freemasons and also Provincial Grand Master of Mark Masons for Gloucester. The pillars are Grade II listed.
