The memorial was originally stored at the Bus Depot on Princess Road, Moss Side. It was damaged during an attempt to steal it from the depot in Princess Road. It was restored by Hall Conservation Ltd https://www.hallconservation.com/?portfolio=war-memorial-stagecoach-manchester and it now hangs outside the entrance to the Stagecoach depot on Hyde Road Image The inscription at the top reads: PRO REGE ST PATRI TO THE HONOURED MEMORY OF THE EMPLOYEES OF MANCHESTER CORPORATION TRAMWAYS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM AND RIGHT IN THE GREAT EUROPEAN WAR 1914-1918 and below the names of 310 men: LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT THESE NAMES BE NOT FORGOTTEN For a full list of the names see Carl's Cam http://www.carlscam.com/manchester/tramways.htm According to War Memorials OnLine: https://www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/134088 this is one of four identical memorials.
