The stones are cists, Bronze Age burial mounds. This site, which is free to visit and has a small car park nearby, is maintained by the Cornwall Heritage Trust. As the background of the picture shows, you can see Mount's Bay (including St Michael's Mount) and the Lizard from the summit. http://www.pastscape.org.uk/hob.aspx?hob_id=422483
