This road is part of the A1 Trunk road, and it is one of those roads that is 'never still'. We are looking towards Archway tube station here, where there is a major intersection. Sensibly, bus lanes have been provided in both directions. At one time this was a tram route, and trolleybuses took over in the late 1930s, these in turn being replaced by diesels around 1960.
